Arkona United: What are we doing?

Some of the ideas and plans generated from our discussion Friday night:

• hymns pitched in a lower key
• more older hymns
• changing worship time to earlier in the day? (could be raised at Official Board meeting)
  
• appearing more prepared for worship - i.e., people knowing ahead of time who the greeters, ushers, readers and Sunday School teachers are
• a congregational Thanksgiving event: maybe the Monday afternoon?
  
• the gradual completion of a banner through this season after Pentecost: some fabric/design to be added weekly?
  
• Fall Supper: schedule it for late October-early November? roast beef?
• Breakfast/Bake Sale: mid- to late-November?
  
• catering an Auction in October: pie and muffin donations needed
  
• Work Bee: Sat., Sept. 17, clean up the church inside and out
• Budget in place for the 2006 year
• construct a phone tree for timely sharing of information re: events, snow days, etc. - meeting to do this 10 a.m. at the church office on Thurs. Sept. 15
