That Was Swell

I just got back from an evening at The Swell youth worship service for London Conference. I took a couple guys from Ravenswood into London with me where I presided over communion and they helped serve the sacrament.

The theme addressed the present relevance of Christmas, the coming Christ and faith itself: "Not What It Was, Not What It Will Be, WHAT IT IS". How can we tap into the here and now of the Christmas message? All of this was presented through music provided by a live band, a dance troupe, soloists, poetry, drama, video clips from "the chronicles of Narnia" and the movie Cast Away.

Imagine a church sanctuary filled with teenagers, their parents, youth group leaders and ministers eager for a 2-hour worship service on a Saturday night. This is one of the ways that London Conference is the envy of youth ministries across the country.
