Correction

Apologies to the Ministry and Personnel Committee, the report printed in the Annual Report 2005 is from last year and is not what was submitted. New copies of its report will be available at the Annual Meetings; in the meantime, the following is the correct information:

In addition to reports provided at regular Official Board meetings, the M & P Committee provides this annual report for each of the church’s annual meetings.

As in previous years Rev Marui provided us with a summary of his requested vacation and study leave dates for the fiscal year of July 1 2005 to June 30 2006. Our committee met, discussed the request with Rev Marui and recommended that the Official Board approve the requests.

Our committee will meet early in 2006 to discuss Rev Marui’s recent request for paternity leave. This leave will affect, to some degree, the previously approved request for study/vacation leave.

We appreciate the dedication that Rev Marui has made to his ongoing studies and his forthright nature of sharing information with us. The efforts required to fulfill the ministry duties at two churches during a period of financial uncertainty, to maintain a working relationship with Presbytery, to seek continued upgrading with personal professional development, as well as meet the parental duties of a dynamic young family, do not seem too great for Kenji as he maintains an excellent rapport with all whom he meets. We extend our support and prayers as inevitable changes occur during the next year.

Our committee also appreciates the efforts of Alice Thomson and Marg Thompson as they regularly complete their financial and clerical duties for the Arkona-Ravenswood charge. We trust that recent photocopier improvements make their jobs a bit easier.
