Hospital Changes

I popped into University Hospital earlier this week and experienced firsthand the changes that privacy legislation has put on my access to patient records.

It used to be that I could search the database by people's city/town of residence, that option has disappeared (although postal codes remain). I used to able to search records that had "Not Available" or "Declined to State" or "No Religion" as listed options for a patient's faith. Not anymore.

The upshot is, if people are in hospital and would like a visit from me or the official United Church visitors at the London sites (which we help pay for through our Presbytery dues), ensure "United Church" is recorded as their faith when registering. Or even better, call and tell me; otherwise, I will not be able to track them down. Thanks in advance!
